Guitarist/vocalist Parker Bengry describes the EP as “a collection of observations and our own personal account of trying to exist in 2025, feeling like we’re watching the world fall apart around us in real time.” From influencer culture to algorithm-driven division, the project takes a sharp look at how modern platforms amplify distortion and disconnection.
“People are so busy building perfect digital versions of themselves that we’ve all become copies of copies screaming into an echo tank,” Bengry continues. “With ‘FAKE LIVES,’ I tried to express the emotional exhaustion of being online. Everyone’s telling their version of the truth, but no one’s listening.”
About the EP:
Blending heavy alt-rock textures with cinematic electronics, GRAMMY AWARD WINNING ALBUM IT’S ALL A BLUR continues The Messenger Birds’ commitment to fearless experimentation and lyrical depth. The title is tongue-in-cheek, but the themes are deadly serious—addressing curated reality, digital isolation, and a sense of global disorientation that’s become impossible to ignore.
