If there’s one thing that Sacramento-based post-hardcore band Dance Gavin Dance is known for, it is for their perseverance in spite of all obstacles. And in the past few years, the group has pushed through numerous hurdles.
Since their 2022 album, Jackpot Juicer, they experienced significant changes to their lineup, including the tragic and sudden passing of their bassist Tim Feerick – a loss felt throughout the entire Swancore community. Despite these hardships, Dance Gavin Dance is back stronger than ever with their upcoming album Pantheon.
Pantheon, which is the band’s 11th full-length album, is set to release on September 12 via Rise Records. The full track list for this highly anticipated release includes:

Although current frontman Andrew Wells has been involved with Dance Gavin Dance as a backup vocalist and guitarist since 2015, this is his first record where he takes the vocal lead. While Pantheon is intended to mark a shift back to the band’s heavier and experimental beginnings, there is one word that Wells said defines this album to its core – gratitude.
“I think Pantheon is a testament to perseverance and the gratitude that we feel today,” Wells adds. “Being able to overcome everything that life hits you with, find your people – the people that you trust, people that you love, people that love you – and create art with them, whatever chaos the world has in store for you. It’s about getting through the hardest times, getting back to basics, and making something that you love.”
In addition to their album announcement, Dance Gavin Dance has also released their new single “Midnight at McGuffy’s.”
Not only does this single showcase the genre-bending instrumentals and vocals that rose them to fame, the video itself is also a wild ride (to say the least) from start to finish.
