Los Angeles psych-punk titans Frankie and the Witch Fingers return today with the electrifying new single “Dead Silence,” along with an official music video. The track is the latest preview of their upcoming album Trash Classic, due June 6, 2025 via The Reverberation Appreciation Society and Greenway Records. Watch the video [HERE] and stream the single [HERE].
In addition to the new release, the band has announced a triad of intimate album release shows in the days leading up to Trash Classic’s debut:
- May 30 – Shacklewell Arms, London
- June 5 – Berlin, New York City
- June 7 – Permanent Records Roadhouse, Los Angeles
“Dead Silence” serves as a sonic embodiment of the band’s chaotic creativity and boundary-pushing style. “This one’s got a nice little origin story,” the band shares. “It started on a flight home from a festival in Boise, where we first met Maryam Qudus (Spacemoth). Josh recorded the plane taking off—and that roar ended up in the bridge. It kind of bookmarks the start of it all.”
Qudus would go on to produce the entire Trash Classic record, helping transmute its proto-punk venom and synth-laced grooves into warped and wild final form. “Maryam’s all over this record,” the band adds. “She sings, plays, distorts, haunts—leaving smudges on everything in the best way.”
Trash Classic follows 2023’s critically acclaimed Data Doom, and marks a sonic mutation into synth-punk, industrial grime, and new wave chaos. FLOOD called Data Doom “a frigid new wave pulse,” while SPIN lauded the band as a “heavy hitter” in the psych-punk underground.
Recorded at Tiny Telephone Studio in Oakland, sessions were fueled by cartoon marathons and candy binges—yielding a record that’s jittery, playful, and dangerously alive. Frankie and the Witch Fingers’ reputation for feral, kinetic live energy is unmatched, and Trash Classic captures that spirit in sharp-edged, neon-drenched form.
Touring the globe in 2025, the band will hit Europe and the U.S. with headline dates and festival stops including Sonic Whip, Wide Awake, Desertfest, and Bumbershoot, plus club dates across the U.S. through October.
