Silverstein releases date for “Pink Moon” — Second Half of Momentous Double LP

Just this past February, Silverstein released a new LP called Antibloom, and it was deemed part one of a double LP project. On May 1, they gave us the first single from the second half and announced the title of the second half is “Pink Moon,” which will debut on September 12.

Silverstein is known for their songs to be stories that all connect to one another. I expect that this double project will be no different. The newest track, “Negative Space,” is meant to push the previous album further with chaos and present a dynamic contrast to capture that feeling of spiraling out.

Guitarist Paul Marc Rousseau describes the new single like a song trying to catch up to itself, as if it’s too fast for its own good. It’s such a cool way to describe it because it feels exactly like that. In a way, it almost feels like the vocals in the track are trying to keep up with the song. The song is moving fast, and the way vocalist Shane Todd has a grit to the lines, it adds to the intense feeling that beats as one. It counteracts within the song as it switches to slower moments, and then about two-thirds of the way, there’s a brief pause that then picks up again immediately with breakdowns. The track is a heavy-hitting bop, and it adds to anticipation to what else is coming on “Pink Moon.”

The second LP also features a couple guest vocals, and I know those will be bangers. Artist collaborations bring new sound especially when they have different, but the same, sounds.

By splitting this entire project into two parts, it really allows an entire story to shape bit by bit, allowing each song to be amazing on its own but still work together. Two parts also allow it to come as two sides, compare and contrast. I’m sure it’s going to be amazing.

Silverstein is currently on tour with Real Friends, Broadside, and Greyhaven for another couple weeks. Grab a ticket. I was just at their Madison show, and it’s a good one. Don’t miss out!
