NYC band Pry hope the grass is “Greener” on new single

Brooklyn-based alt-rock band Pry are giving listeners a taste of their debut album, Wrapped in Plastic, set to release later this month.

Musicians Amara Bush and Simeon Beardsley teamed up to form the duo in 2023, writing original shoegaze-influenced music that has stood out amongst the New York City music scene and even caught the attention of Pitchfork’s playlist curators.

Their brand-new single, Greener,” is one of the first songs they wrote together, going through many changes and iterations as they discovered their authentic sound. The song’s hazy, dreamlike sound accompanies wistful lyrics about longing for the other side where the grass is greener.

The band has also teased the upcoming album with singles Tether You and Heaven,” showcasing their songwriting prowess and nostalgic, noisy DIY energy.

New York City listeners can experience the new album live at Pry’s release show on May 31 at Night Club 101 in East Village, alongside other local bands Crate and Cal Fish.

Keep up with the band on Instagram, Spotify, and Youtube, and listen to Wrapped in Plastic on May 29.
