House of Protection drop new single “I Need More Than This”

On Friday May 2, 2025, the genre-bending heavy duo House of Protection (Aric Improta and Stephen Harrison) returns with their third single, “I Need More Than This,” ahead of their upcoming EP, Outrun You All, set to drop on May 23.

In a change of pace from the heavy and explosive intensity of their previous two singles, “Fire” and “Afterlife,” “I Need More Than This” dials back the tempo slightly while maintaining the infectious energy the duo is known for. This track leans more into their electronic side with an irresistibly catchy repeating rhythm. The powerful anthemic chorus demanding “I need something more than this” and “Something better must exist,” leads into a dreamy yet haunting toned back bridge that crashes back into the grittiness.

Reflecting on the track, the duo shares: “‘I Need More Than This’ is us exploring a mood between really heavy/fast and slow/chill…We don’t really have a song like this so it was fun to push ourselves in this way.”

Catch the special show—and currently only show on the books for them in North America—for the release of Outrun You All at The Roxy in their hometown of Los Angeles on May 24, which also marks Aric and Steve’s shared birthday. Tickets are available here.

The duo will also be heading out to join Architects on their EU/U.K. tour in October, with a run of major music festivals in between – including Download and Reading and Leeds.
