Steel Panther hits the Stage Celebrating 15 Years of Feel The Steel

On Sunday, a crowd gathered to see the legendary Steel Panther celebrate the 15th anniversary of their first album, Feel The Steel. Hailing from Los Angeles, Californiak, the band has continuously toured around the world. On this tour, they bring along Moon Fever, a seemingly new band from Seattle, Washington, who just released their debut album in February 2025, Forever Sleep. The night was full of excitement as the crowd milled into the Revel Entertainment Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Moon Fever stepped out on stage and the crowd went wild. It seemed that people were immediate fans of this band. They are a high-energy, rock and roll ensemble, bringing to the stage a solid stadium-style sound. Band members include Triston Bracht on vocals, Mitch Micoley as the guitarist, Dave Orton as the bassist, and Troy Wageman on drums. All bring their unique flavor to the floor.

Forever Sleep,” the title track from their latest album of the same name, is already hitting the charts hard, resting at 35th place on the Mediabase Active Rock charts. If this song is the title track, all the rest of their songs are going to be strong, solid rock melodies. I enjoyed their music, and after the performance, as the band stepped off stage, I let Bracht know my feelings while shaking his hand—he was genuine and grateful for the feedback.

Check out these links to see future concerts and look up their latest released album, I know I have put them on my latest rotation of music to be played while driving to my next concert.

Steel Panther, originally known as Metal Shop and later Metal Skool around 2000, adopted their current pseudonym as their debut album was coming together, birthing what fans now cherish as Steel Panther. They are well known as “comedy shock glam rock” legends.  Michael Star, the lead singer, is supported by Satchel on guitar and Spyder on bass, with Stix Zadinia, the drummer, all having a blast on stage. Their banter between songs was funny, and they always have a comeback. Spyder is the newest member of the band, but you would never know—he can throw it as fast as Star can.

They opened with their all-time most popular hit and the fourth song on their debut album, Feel The Steel (2009), Eye of the Panther, a song that truly celebrates the 80’s hair metal scene with lyrics voicing what people of that era wanted rockstars to say. They are truly a talented band, always making fun of rock and roll but in a good way, something entertaining and real. This song was followed by It Won’t Suck Itself,” off the Balls Out album and another popular song in their list of great hits. They wrapped up their performance with the songs “Community Property” and “Death To All But Metal.” It is always a great performance from such a legendary band, who are keeping roll and rock alive in 2025.

After six albums, I wonder if we will see a new album from Steel Panther—let’s hope they do not have any plans of stopping at this point and we see some new stuff soon. If you see Steel Panther coming to your city, go! They are so fun to listen to and watch on stage—they’re as entertaining as ever.
