On Thursday night, the Brooklyn Paramount was buzzing with energy as Dublin-based indie rock band Inhaler took to the stage for a sold-out show. The venue, known for its historic and intimate atmosphere, was packed to capacity, with the crowd spilling into the staircases as anticipation built. From the first note to the final encore, Inhaler showed New York that they are one of the most vibrant acts in today’s indie rock scene.
The night kicked off with their hit song, “My Honest Face,” a track that immediately set the tone for the evening. The crowd, which spanned generations, erupted in excitement. Fans of all ages—ranging from young kids to grandparents—were equally getting into the excitement of the songs. It was a testament to the vibrancy of Inhaler’s sound. Right next to me in the pit, a group of girls sang every word to their songs, even when the band performed new tracks from their recently released album, which debuted this past February. Songs like “A Question of You,” “Little Things,” and “Your House” had the crowd singing along with passion, confessing to how Inhaler’s music resonates with both longtime fans and newcomers.
The band’s stage presence was undeniable. Frontman Elijah Hewson’s energy ranged from fierce intensity to heartfelt vulnerability, while each member contributed to the dynamic of their sound. The transition between tracks like “My Honest Face” and newer songs demonstrated the band’s evolution while staying true to their roots. Whether it was their first time seeing the band or their tenth, the audience’s energy never faltered. The second to last song of the set, “It Won’t Always Be Like This,” absolutely radiated through every single person that was in that room. It felt like more than just music—it was a feeling. Leaving the audience with an encore that further solidified their status as one of the most exciting bands on the indie rock scene today.
Inhaler’s Brooklyn show was a reminder of the magic that live music holds, a place where people from all walks of life come together to experience something truly special. If Thursday night’s performance is any indication, Inhaler’s star is on the rise, and their next appearance in Brooklyn will surely be just as unforgettable.
