This damn evening

On January 24, 2025, on a freezing evening out in Potosi Live, folks in the Big Country had an amazing treat for the night to help soothe their party energy; the boys from Pecos & The Rooftops coming back to Potosi, TX, to kick off their 2025 tour. Pecos & The Rooftops are surely no strangers to the West Texas music scene. When I witnessed their last performance back in Potosi Live, they completely wiped the floor of the sold-out venue, showing everyone how the Lubbock-based band throws it down for the evening.

To start off the performances, we had the pleasure of the opener for the sold-out performance, Parker Ryan, the rising new talent from Coral Springs, Florida, and his band. This set was surely a special one for the evening, especially for Parker Ryan’s bassist, Josh Seca, who definitely felt like it was a welcoming homecoming. The Parker Ryan squad certainly knew how to warm up that big country crowd with their amazing stage presence, ranging from slick bass riffs from Seca and the consistent high performance on the drum kit by Kyle Garrison.

Parker Ryan really had the front of the pit singing their hearts out and displaying high energy for the remainder of their set. The most favored among the fans when it comes to Parker Ryan’s setlist would surely be his hit “Beaumont.” The fans definitely received the business from these rising musicians and were ready for that headline action by Pecos & The Rooftops. Whenever you’re looking to discover a new act, I highly recommend checking out the Parker Ryan squad.

The time finally hits for Pecos & The Rooftops. The crowd was highly energetic, the party was alive, and Pecos and his boys knew how to utilize that crowd. It always excites me seeing these guys because they know how to connect with the fans easily and always give the people in Potosi a hell of a time to enjoy some incredible music locally in the area.

I was personally excited to cover the one and only Jesse Santos, the lead guitarist of the band. We both share something highly in common, we are both from Corpus Christi, TX, and one thing people in South Texas always do is support our fellow boys in the music scene.

A lot of people, whenever they see Pecos & The Rooftops, always enjoy the party that gets initiated in their performance by lead vocalist Pecos Hurley. I indulge in having the pleasure of watching bassist Kalen Davis perform; he always brings positive vibes and charisma to the stage. Davis and the rest of the Pecos squad always put in 100% effort every time, and that’s what the people from the Big Country always appreciate about their music.

The fans kept singing the whole night during their performance, especially when it came to Pecos favorites like 5AM and, of course, their highly streamed track to end off the night, This Damn Song.” They also shocked the audience by announcing that new music will be out very soon, so the fans can definitely keep a lookout for their new work.

As always, Pecos & The Rooftops never disappoint and, of course, selling out their show once again. It’s always a pleasure to welcome these guys back to the Big Country and Potosi Live. We will be looking forward to, yet again, another party session with the Rooftoppers whenever they come back soon.
