Lesa Silvermore BURNED single release

On November 29, 2024, 32-year-old Lesa Silvermore released her newest single, “BURNED,” and we are here to give you the inside scoop on it as well as Lesa herself.

Lesa grew up in Sarasota, Florida, and started writing poetry at an early age which later evolved into the writing of lyrics we know and love today. Even though bass was her first love at 15, during her senior year reign in high school she transitioned into her guitar and solo vocals era.

The band’s genre falls under numerous umbrellas, making it difficult to categorize under just one. Lesa refers to their genre as “genre fluid” due to the overwhelming elements of rock and 70’s blues rock intertwined with the small bits of grunge and feminism/90’s alternative. During our interview, when asked where her inspiration came from, Lesa stated that growing up her music roots consisted of mostly artists like Led Zeppelin, Joan Jett, Blondie, and Cyndi Lauper, but as she got older favored artists like Nirvana, The Cranberries, and Rage Against The Machine. With that being said, she also gave some major kudos to local artists who inspired her. “I also am deeply inspired by local acts in the Sarasota music scene, singer/song writers that are my friends, as well as people I’ve seen in festivals around town.”

Josh Scheible began playing bass for Lesa in 2015 right before the recording of her first album, Doppelgangerand has strongly held that spot since. Drummer Dylan Plaster joined in February of 2023 and has been a crucial part of the band’s shift from past to present day, providing their enthusiastic passion for drums and has been a “driving force in our band that was missing from before.” Song “Rip Off The Mask” is a fan favorite and actually continues to draw attention to Lesa and the band. It is usually the band’s closing song and has a special energy about it that you can feel on and off the stage. Lesa said, “When I walked away from music for a bit, this song literally woke me up in the middle of the night. I was shaking, moving uncontrollably, and the song was just taking over.” To this day, the song does just that, taking over the band onstage as well as the fans in the audience for a well fueled final song.

With the release of “BURNED,” Lesa wanted it to be a symbol of growing from the past and making changes for a better future. “The influence of this song comes from that really hard pill to swallow, that you are a part of your own pain.” She went on to say, ” I was in a cycle, a vicious unhealthy all-consuming pattern that I kept catching myself in with not just one person but several. Which very much circled around drinking. The lines ‘I’m paralyzed in someone I knew. A mirror reflected at my own faults. A ghost of old habits had to stop.’ I was talking to myself. Becoming aware that I was a part of the cycle and the only way I was going to get out was to admit that I was halting my own progress. Once I swallowed that pill, the song BURNED poured out of me.”

The release party on November 29 was held at Oscura in Bradenton, FL, with friends, family, and fans alike. “BURNED” is easily becoming a fan favorite and fans cannot wait to see what Lesa will piece together next. To keep up with music releases, merch, shows and all-around band life, follow Lesa on all of her social media platforms listed below and don’t forget to give BURNED a listen where you get your music.
