The Wrecks proved that venue size doesn’t dictate energy level as they delivered a powerhouse performance to a packed house at The Sinclair in Cambridge on November 12, 2024. True to their “Super Half-Marathon Tour” theme, the band took the stage decked out in full marathon running gear, setting a playful tone for the night ahead.
Local act Divine Sweater warmed up the crowd with selections from their recently released album, providing the perfect appetizer for the main course to come. By the time The Wrecks took the stage, the sold-out crowd was primed and ready.
The set showcased the band’s evolution over their seven-plus year career, featuring their latest release “Always, Everytime” alongside an unreleased track titled “Speed” that had the audience moving despite its unfamiliarity. Fan favorites like “Fvck Somebody” had the crowd singing along word for word, while their biggest hit “Favorite Liar” served as the perfect encore, sending fans home with a reminder of why they fell in love with the band in the first place.
While The Sinclair may be one of Boston’s more intimate venues, The Wrecks proved that sometimes the best shows come in smaller packages, delivering a performance that felt both personal and explosive.
