October 30, at the Ace Of Spades in Sacramento, California, Dirty Honey brought 70s rock back to life on their “Can’t Find The Breaks Tour.” From Los Angeles California, Dirty Honey reminded Sacramento what true Rock ‘N’ Roll sounds like. Their raw guitar tone, massive drums, dirty and gritty bass lines, and high flying vocals brought everyone back to the roots of true rock ‘n roll.
Opening up, The Band Feel took the stage and started the show out with high expectations. Their songs, also replicating 70s Rock ‘N’ Roll, tore through the audience, amping everyone up. Their songs featured singer Garrett Barcus’ ability to belt notes, acting as the cherry on top of bass player Rodger Lenhardt, guitarist Tyler Armstrong, and drummer T.J. Steinwart’s tight musicianship. Throughout the show, fans cheered after every song, proving a successful set in Sacramento.
After The Band Feel finished their set, fans eagerly waited for Dirty Honey to start playing. After talking to a handful of the concert goers, many people from all over were attending the show to get the chance to see them. Since their start in 2017, Dirty Honey has grown into an unforgettable band. Getting to see them in person is something that is difficult to put into words. The raw talent that makes up the band is something that is hard to come by in the music world today. Every single member truly knows how to play their instrument, putting their entire soul into it.
Consisting of lead singer Marc Labelle, guitarist John Notto, bassist Justin Smolian and drummer Jayden Bean, Dirty Honey has written many songs that have reached millions of listens, such as their most popular song “When I’m Gone,” at over 23 million listens on Spotify alone. During their set, they played like they had millions listening.
Every single song showcased the raw and soaring vocals of Marc Labelle, while he danced around the stage, interacting with fans, constantly spinning and holding the mic out and above the crowd, encouraging them to sing the lyrics back to him.
John Notto got the chance to show off his skills through soulful solos, playing exactly what the song needed, nothing less and nothing more. His riffs brought the energy, and when combined with Jayden Bean’s drums and Justin Smolian’s bass, created a massively raw sound, that is a must-have in the rock ‘n’ roll world.
The band played their biggest songs, as well as newer songs, which are climbing in popularity off of their newest album. Coming out with “Can’t Find The Breaks” in 2023, the band has curated a sound that is easily recognizable. With obvious influences from bands like Led Zeppelin and Aerosmith, Dirty Honey found a way to make their music their own, but reflect the classics that many people still love today. 70s rock is arguably one of the most influential times in rock ‘n’ roll, shaping a lot of the music we listen to today, providing perfect evidence to why it is so easy to love Dirty Honey.
