Wednesday, October 30, 2024, was “A Day to Remember” at the Bryce Jordan Center.

On October 30, 2024, A Day to Remember brought their “Couple More Shows 2024” tour to the Bryce Jordan Center in State College, Pennsylvania, with special guests Stand Atlantic and August Burns Red.The first band to kick off the evening was Stand Atlantic from Sydney, Australia. They opened with their song “WARZ0NE,” and within the first minute, the crowd was jumping and fully energized for what would be an unforgettable night.

Following Stand Atlantic’s set, August Burns Red took the stage. Hailing from Lancaster, PA, just over two hours away, they drew a strong hometown crowd. If one word could sum up their set, it would be “groundbreaking.” They opened with a popular cover of System of a Down’s hit “Chop Suey.”

Adding to the excitement, the band dressed in Halloween costumes, with most of them as knights and kings. Lead singer Jake Luhrs appeared as Kratos from the popular video game franchise God of War. The attention to detail in Jake’s costume left an impression that fans won’t soon forget.

Their setlist included the song “Ghosts,” which features A Day to Remember vocalist Jeremy McKinnon. As soon as the song began, the crowd wondered if Jeremy would join on stage, and he did. The audience erupted in cheers, fueling the already intense energy of August Burns Red’s performance, setting the tone for the main act.

After a brief intermission, A Day to Remember took over the stage. Jeremy McKinnon’s voice filled the arena as he shouted, “PENNSYLVANIA!” and the crowd’s cheers merged with flashing lights and the first notes of “Sticks and Bricks,” followed by a blast of confetti, signaling it was time to party. They then played crowd favorites “All I Want,” “2nd Sucks,” and “Paranoia,” building up momentum for the night.

A Day to Remember is known for their unique crowd interactions, and they didn’t disappoint. During “Rescue Me,” a Marshmello song featuring ADTR, they tossed beach balls into the crowd, which were soon bouncing across the floor and even reaching the fans in the seats. Another highlight was the “crowd surfing on top of a crowd surfer” during “Mindreader,” where fans stand on top of other fans like surfboards and surf toward security—a signature ADTR moment.

On this tour, the band also gave a nod to When We Were Young Festival, where they played their Homesick album in full. While not part of this show, they included two rarely played songs from Homesick, “NJ Legion Iced Tea” and “Welcome to the Family,” much to the delight of fans who had missed the festival.

Throughout the evening, the band mixed their newer singles, “Miracle” and “Feedback,” with more fan participation during “All Signs Point to Lauderdale,” where rolls of toilet paper flew through the air, spreading across the floor and seating areas. They even surprised fans with a deep cut, “The Danger in Starting a Fire.”

As the night drew to a close, they performed “If It Means a Lot to You,” with fans illuminating the arena by turning on their phone flashlights and singing along. The band briefly exited the stage, prompting cheers for an encore. They returned to play “NJ Legion Iced Tea,” followed by their biggest hit, “The Downfall of Us All,” closing the show with another burst of confetti.

It goes without saying: A Day to Remember knows how to put on a show, leaving fans with memories to cherish forever.
