Architects end North American Tour in a blaze

After a successful and exciting tour, what better way to end the run than a killer show in Las Vegas, Nevada? That is exactly what Architects did with this year’s North American tour, and they brought some great friends along with them, sharing the stage with Belgium based Brutus, as well as U.S. bred metalcore favorites, We Came as Romans.

I will be the first to admit, I had heard nothing of Brutus before the events of the night. To say I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement. Their sound is something I call atmospheric and almost haunting, in a very good way. This three piece group also plays the rare card of their vocalist being the groups percussionist. I found the track they closed with,”Sugar Dragon,” to have a fitting sound of finality at the end of a wonderful set. Adding them to your playlists would be a smart move for anyone looking for a fresh take on “post-hardcore.”

Despite numerous setbacks over the last few years, We Came As Romans has shown that an overall theme of positivity can shape you into phenomenal artists. Our set tonight was kicked off with “Darkbloom” and continued to take us on a trip through their most recent albums, staples like “Hope” and “Blackhole,” all while providing the energy and hype that we have come to expect of them. The ability they had to keep the crowd moving throughout the entire set is something that we love to see.

As a fan, I am more than excited to see where they take us in the coming years.

Acting as the anchor of the evening, Architects absolutely took advantage of this being the end of the tour. Not only was this the end of the tour, but it was also a good decade since they last preformed here in Las Vegas.

Ten years is a long time since the last performance and, in that time, it is clear their fandom grew. When asked if it was the first time seeing Architects, the entire venue erupted with noise. If that doesn’t prove somethings really do get better with age, then I don’t know what does.

“Seeing Red” kicked off this set, hitting hard and putting the crowd in the right headspace for how the evening was to go. After a pulse-pounding jaunt through that last few albums, they gave us a wonderful treat in the form of an encore of “Nihlist” and “Animals,” both crowd favorites.

While this was the last date of this tour, all three bands are slated to perform this weekend at Aftershock and Mayhem festivals if you would like to catch them live!
