Hed P.e. Headlines Trees in Dallas, Texas

American Nu Metal band, Hed P.e., delivered an outstanding performance at the historical venue, Trees, in Dallas, Texas, on Friday night. With support from local music, Dark Avenue and Love Sick Drug, this show was unforgettable. Sadly, the venue was not sold-out, however, I am surprised that it was not. Openers Dark Avenue definitely have the potential to become a well-known band. They had an immense amount of support from friends and family in the audience, and their style stood out from what I normally see in the Dallas rock/alt scene.

Love Sick Drug is another local band here in Dallas. Lead singer, Erin Marie Garrett, graced us with a show-stopping performance. Her raspy vocals mixed with the talents of lead guitarist, Lew Morris, made for a delightful show cocktail the audience could drink up and have a good time. I had the opportunity to connect with the band after their set, and they were incredibly gracious and kind to me. I cannot wait to attend another one of their shows!

Newest member of Suburban Noize Records, Stacc Styles, gave us a break from the rock music of the night with his super fast-paced rap. Alongside him was DJ Swamp, who meshed incredibly well with Stacc. Their energy and stage presence was on point (or whatever the kids say). I am excited to see what Stacc will do with SNR and what new music of his we will get to enjoy.

The last opener for Hed P.e. was a band from Des Moines, Iowa, named End Pass. To be completely honest, they were not my cup of tea, but I always want to say something positive about every band I review. I do think with the correct coaching and with determination, they all could improve on their vocals, sound, and stage presence. There is always room to grow no matter where you started, and I think this is a band who could be better with more practice and preparation.

And last, but most certainly not least, Hed P.e.. I am fairly familiar with their music, so I was very ecstatic when they played their classics such as “Killing Time,” “Rat Race,” “Blackout,” “Bartender” and “Renegade.”

This was my first time seeing them live, and it was everything I expected, and more. Their energy on stage is eminent. My favorite part of any show is crowd interactions. Hed P.e. was so in tune with their crowd with song “Raise Hell,” I felt like I had become a part of a family I never knew I needed.

Hed P.e. also are huge supporters of our troops and veterans. Their merch guy, ‘Crazy Eddie,’ is a ten year veteran who served time in three different countries. Thank you for your service, Eddie, and thank you Hed P.e. for being an amazing band.
